Producer Price Index (MoM)
What it is: Producer Price Index measures prices received by producers for goods (and sometimes services). It sits earlier in the inflation pipeline than consumer CPI and can flag cost pressure building in supply chains.
Why it matters: Markets use PPI as a leading clue for future CPI and corporate margins. Large upside surprises can lift rate expectations; soft PPI can ease inflation fears.
